Marketing Strategy: Knowing your players and speaking their language

I just returned from the London Affiliate Conference and had the pleasure of sitting in on some of the best Bingo related marketing sessions around. One particular topic that struck my interest was 'Bingo Demographics' and the way in which top affiliates are now targeting new sets of players. Our bingo sites really cater to the American and British audience; so of course the majority (75%) of our players are Women. Now this is no shock to anyone. All of our chat hosts and player support know this and do our best to best support the players you send. However, some top affiliates are reporting the average age of these female players is dropping and that means new methods of attracting depositors is changing in 2012.

Marketing Strategy: Knowing your players and speaking their language

The atypical average bingo player is a Female ages 36-55 with a moderate income and fancy for slot games outside bingo. Knowing this and applying it to everything from design to banking has allowed us to be successful in converting more players than most other programs. Again however, the number of players under 35 has more than tripled in the last 5 years alone! That's an amazing figure and really should open the eyes of any affiliate looking to get into a fresh player pool and new revenue streams. As opposed to just searching for offers on portals (SEO exclusive), these players are taking to social media outlets and player forums for suggestions FROM their PEERS. Having an active forum and interactive Facebook fan page are just two of the new outlets affiliates have struck gold with in 2011 and that trend doesn't look to be slowing anytime soon. So while the older ladies still are your base, don't be afraid to try and 'get social' and get to know these younger players. They're the one's who will be earning you revenue for years to come!
